In recent years, low-altitude aircraft maintenance and our Institute of New Energy Automobile projects have been well developed. Apart from engineering, humanities have been an integrative part of the university developmental agenda. The School of Humanities and Education has been able to grow within two years the Chinese language and literature major to an impressive student body of 5000. The currently unveiled “Maofeng Writers Experimental Class” is a creative effort under the context of “Chinese Creative Writing” being listed by the Ministry of Education as a secondary discipline of Chinese Language and Literature, a strong witness of GZIST’s strategy to propel both engineering and humanities, as well as a highlight of the School’s “Eight-Key Writing Teaching Model” which has received the attention-catching Top Teaching Award of Guangdong Province Writing Society.

GZIST Executive Vice President HUANG Nansong remarked in his address that “Maofeng Writers Experimental Class” is an endeavor of the University to enhance quality education and people development for our highly competitive graduates on the firm footing of the Greater Bay Area in order to meet our goal of a high-calibre application-oriented university, propelled by innovation. He demanded that the Class must always follow the guideline of fostering people for the CPC and developing talents for the nation through our curriculum and teaching quality so that our students will be able to learn and innovate for success and that the flowers of literature will blossom to decorate the grand garden of our motherland’s literature as well as the ivory tower at the foot of Moafeng Mountains to light up the splendid life path of our students.

GZIST “Maofeng Writers Experimental Class” takes after the name of Maofeng Mountains in Baiyun District, Guangzhou.
