On the morning of October 16th, the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) opened in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Xi Jinping, General Secretary, made a report to the National Congress on behalf of the 19th CPC Central Committee. All our university faculty, staff and students listened carefully to the opening ceremony of the 20th CPC National Congress through various channels.

They included university leaders, members of the University CPC Committee, members of the Discipline Inspection Commission, secretaries of CPC organizations, faculty and student representatives. According to the arrangement of the CPC Committee, faculty and student representatives from nine schools were organized to watch the live broadcast of the Congress in the classrooms. CPC Party Secretary Huang Shengcheng said that the report of the General Secretary clearly announced what flag the Communist Party of China will hold, what road it will take , what state of mind it will be in, and what goals it will march towards on the new journey. It is necessary to comply with the common aspirations of the whole Party and the people of all ethnic groups, meet the requirements of the development of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the new era, and adapt to the new situation and new tasks of the work of the Party and the nation. It is a programmatic document shining with the glory of Marxist truth. And it is also a guide to action to write a new chapter in building a socialist modern country in an all-round way and win a new victory for Socialism with Chinese Characteristics.
