On the afternoon of October 27th, in order to motivate students’ enthusiasm for Japanese learning and enrich their cultural life on campus with a platform for self-display and mutaul exchange, the third Japanese Speech Contest of Guangzhou Institute of Science and Technology was organized by Japanese Department of School of Foreign Languages in No.2 Lecture Hall.

 Students actively participated in the contest in the form of propositional speech and impromptu speech, which strictly followed the provisions of Japanese Speech Contest of Universities in Guangdong Province. The contestants skillfully combined their Japanese language ability with their presentation skills, and received heavy applause from judges and audience with their standard pronunciation, self-assured performance and sincere emotional expression. After the professional review by judges, Hu Zhuoyen, a contestant tutored by Liu Jiayun, and Hu Zheyuan, a contestant tutored by Jin Libing, won the grand prize.

 Huang Guoshan, Chair of Japanese Department and Jiang Xiaojuan, Liu Jiayun, Jin Libing, Zhang Chunling, the judges, awarded prizes and took group photos with the contestants in turn.

 This speech contest has not only provided a stage for students to show their abilities and passion, but also created a good atmosphere for Japanese learning and stimulated students’ enthusiasm for it. In the end of the contest, Department Chair Huang Guoshan hoped that the two contestants who won the grand prize would make persistent efforts to elevate their Japanese proficiency to a higher level and achieve greater success in the Provincial Competition in November.
